James Earl Jones didn’t appear in the original credits

James Earl Jones lent his voice to Darth Vader (who was played on screen by David Prowse), but he felt that he didn’t contribute enough to the role to warrant a credit. Jones said, “Not only did I refuse credit, I told everyone it wasn’t me.” He wouldn’t allow his name to be added to the credits until the third original movie, Return of the Jedi. There is also speculation that Jones was convinced that the movie would flop and didn’t want his name associated with Vader.

http://blog.oldschooltees.com/2013/06/4-facts-about-darth-vader-you-probably.html

In hindsight, I imagine James Earl Jones wishes he had his name in the credits.  Star Wars is a huge hit. The movies keep coming. I’m sure that there is a good Hollywood reason for James Earl Jones not wanting his name in the credits. Still, I imagine that in hindsight his name in the credits would have been a good thing

Because there is more then one way to say the same thing.

This week we’re working w/In retrospect!

Out loud; in your head; under your breath!

Hi! Welcome to English w/Katie. I’m Katie, Katie Adler, and it’s Video Monday. Time to begin our “Five Ways To Say It Week” because there is more than one way to say the same thing! This week we’re working w/”In retrospect.” “In retrospect.” Which means looking back or thinking back over a decision or an action… I would change it.

Now mine is very simple, especially in this world which has many problems, many difficulties, but usually “in retrospect”… can be pretty simple. But mine is very simple today.

In retrospect… at university I would have taken the surfing class. I looked at it every quarter. Surfing Basics 101—free (no money) included in my tuition. I looked at it every quarter. Surfing class. Surfing class.

Now I could boogie board. I could body surf. I loved all that stuff and I wanted to take surfing, but I didn’t allow myself to take surfing.

In retrospect… I would have taken the surfing classes. Oh, sometimes it’s that simple. In retrospect… at university I would have taken (I should have taken) the surfing classes.

In retrospect… In retrospect… In retrospect…

Take care and have a good one.

Bye…

Sincerely,

Katie Adler

I love Mexican food. I was raised on it. It doesn’t seem to have caught on in Japan. Recently a friend of mine told me he was going to “the Mexican restaurant” in Shinagawa. He had never been there. I told him, “You’ll be pleasantly surprised. It’s delicious!” He reported back that it was delicious and that he plans to go back! If you decide to go, you’ll be pleasantly surprised if you like Mexican food!

Because there is more then one way to say the same thing.

This week we’re working w/You’re in for a treat!

Out loud; in your head; under your breath!

Hi! Welcome to English w/Katie. I’m Katie, Katie Adler, and it’s Video Monday. Time to begin our “Five Ways To Say It Week” because there is more than one way to say the same thing! This week we’re working w/You’re in for a treat! You’re in for a treat!

So, let’s say for example I have been to Kamakura and you have not been to Kamakura. And you tell me, “Oh, I’m going to Kamakura.” And I will tell you, “You’re in for a treat!” Because I loved it. You’re going to love it.”

So, if someone tells you they’re going to do something they have never done before (it’s there first time) but you have done it, you would say to them, “Oh, you’re in for a treat. It’s beautiful. The hiking is wonderful. I had a great time when I went. You’re in for a treat!” So there’s your A++!

A) Oh, I’m going to Kamakura.

B) Oh, you’re in for a treat! It’s beautiful. The hiking’s great. The scenery is wonderful. You’re going to love it. You’re in for a treat!

A+++…

So, this week we’re working with “You’re in for a treat!”

Take care and have a good one.

Bye…

Sincerely,

Katie Adler
