Some Hours Are Golden Because We Let Them Slip By

Hi! We Started w/:

Golden one

In your head out loud under you breath–throughout your

day–shadowing! This week—quotes that have “golden” in

them.

We Continue w/: You must have been warned against letting the golden hours slip by; but some of them are golden only because we let them slip by.

James M. Barrie

busy_bee

I love this. I am a busy bee and this quote is a good

reminder for me to take five; put my feet up and relax. No

buzzing here and no buzzing there –just the golden

moment of letting some golden hours slip by to get much

needed golden relaxation time!

You must have been warned against letting the

golden hours slip by; but some of them are golden

only because we let them slip by.

James M. Barrie

How’ll you let some golden time slip by this Golden Week?

Have a good one!

Sincerely,

Katie

A++ Saturday!!!

Hi! Welcome to A++ Saturday!

A++ is giving the basic information and

adding detail.

A++ is giving extra information in your responses to questions or comments. Here are three examples:

Question/Comment

Answer

+

+

1) How are you?

Fine!

I went for a walk this morning.

I saw so many beautiful flowers!

2) That looks delicious.

It is!

I got it at the bakery near the station.

It was my first time to go to that bakery.

3) Can you play tennis?

No. I don’t really like sports.

I like reading!

Here are some ideas for how

to think A++ for one of this week’s

sentences.

One example from this week is:

Winter’s keeping its grip.

Notice all of the (+), (+)!!!

SharonsKnitting023a

A) Winter’s keeping its grip.(+) I’m still

using my heater (+) and wool socks!

B) I know (+) my electric bill is still high.

(+) I remember last year was cold, too.

A) Really?(+) I don’t remember. (+) I saw

the picture that Katie’s father took of the

snow—brr, cold!

B) I did too! (+) It was around the middle

of April. (+) Well, warm weather should be

on its way!

A) Don’t remind me. (+) I bet this summer

will be hot.(+) Oh, well!

Have a good one!

Sincerely,

Katie

Winter Is Tenacious This Year!

Hi! We Started w/:

winter hanging on

In your head out loud under you breath–throughout your day–shadowing!

We Continue w/: Winter is tenacious this year!

And, it seems winter has been tenacious in the past—this story is from 1979:

tenacious winter

I like to think of myself as tenacious. Being tenacious can be a very good thing. Pay careful attention to the sitution to decide how “tenacious” is being used!!!

I remember one of my friends in high school applied to Stanford University. She had to write an essay describing herself. She used the word tenacious. She got into Stanford University!!!
