A++ Saturday!!!

Hi! Welcome to A++ Saturday!

A++ is giving the basic information and

adding detail. Here are some ideas for how

to think A++ for one of this week’s

sentences.

One example from this week is:

I’m bushed.

Notice all of the (+), (+)!!!

A) I’m bushed. (+)I just spent two

hours in the garden. (+) I must say it

looks great.

B) Next time call me. (+) I’ll come and help.

(+) I don’t have a garden.

A) That’s a great idea. (+) It’s kind of

early. (+) Is that OK?

B) (+) Absolutley! (+) Besides, it’s good for

me! (+) I’m in an office all day usually.

B) That’s true. (+) And, working with plants

is really healing. (+) I love the birds, too.

A) I like your garden. (+) You keep it

natural and chemical free. (+) That’s nice.

B) Thank you. (+) I may be a little too

natural for some. (+) I don’t care if insects

are in my garden!!!!

Sometimes people plant flowers that

naturally attract bugs—and then these

people kill the bugs: salt on slugs;

poisonous sprays—respect life–and find

out about plants and flowers that don’t

attract the insects you want to keep

out!!!

Here is a suggestion! I have highlighted in red some great English for you to know!!!!

Fluids

Drink plenty of water. You need to keep your vocal cords moist so keep water with you at all times while your voice is temporarily on vacation. Try to drink at least six to eight glasses of water a day while your voice is out of commission. 

 Warm drinks can be soothing–just make sure they’re caffeine and alcohol free. These substances are dehydrating and will make your condition worse, according to ABC News Health. Instead, gravitate to herbal or caffeine-free teas, and skip the lemon slice. The citric acid in lemons can promote acid reflux which can further irritate the vocal cords, according to ABC News Health.

Here is a remedy! I have highlighted in red some great English for you to know!!!!

• Drinking warm herbal teas like that of peppermint, Echinacea, chamomile, licorice root, slippery elm bark, eucalyptus leaves, ginger, lemon, etc are highly beneficial in reducing throat problems causing loss of voice. Do not forget to addhoney to make these herbal curesmore effective.

Don’t whisper.

It would seem like whispering would be less stressful on your vocal cords. But whispering actually puts more strain on your voice than talking normally does. In fact, whispering can be as straining as shouting. So, if you must speak, don’t whisper.

Hiromichi “Hiro” UGAYA is a veteran journalist, photographer and educator, who has devoted his life recently to intensive coverage of the Fukushima nuclear catastrophe and the plight of the tens of thousands of people the accident has displaced. A former reporter at Asahi newspaper and writer for AERA magazine, he has authored more than half a dozen books on security issues, media criticism, Internet technology and Japanese pop culture. A graduate of Kyoto University, he holds a Master’s in International Security Affairs from Columbia University. His latest book “Fukushima’s Lost Seasons” is a poetic photo essay of the serene flowers and trees of the region that have been invisibly devastated by radiation. He is also a bassist and performs regularly at Tokyo clubs.

The Golden Rule For Every Business Man….

Hi! We Started w/:

WOW! Look how far we have come. Marden wrote “man” and probably never even thought to write “woman”. Marden died in 1924. My great grandmother would have have been allowed to vote in 1920.
